Galway Bay Fm_Interview with Keith Finnegan, Galway Talks

Meeting the fabulous Songwriter Padraig Jack in Galway Bay Fm

Had a lovely chat with Keith Finnegan from Galway Talks on Galway Bay Fm. I chatted with Keith about my Song for Brigid which I released on 1st February, the inspiration for the song and how the song finally took shape. Was great to catch up again with Padraig Jack the fabulous Songwriter from the Aran Islands who happened to be in studio to play later in the show.

If you listen to the interview on link below, you’ll get to hear the last few bars of Song for Brigid which we played live on the show. The clip includes a fabulous guitar solo by Padraig Seóige who was my guitar comrade in arms on the day. Link to the full interview below photo. Link to studio recorded version of Song for Brigid, below that again, down the bottom.

Kinvara FM Radio – Crinniú na Mbád Festival 2018

I had great fun at the Crinniú na mbád festival in Kinvarra being interviewed on Rose O Connor’s Come West Along the Road Radio Program. Had a wonderful time with Rose and all the gang in Kinvara FM. I played my song ‘The Sands of Inis óirr’ and my song ‘Gaillimh Abú’ for the galway hurlers. I was joined by a drummer who happened to be in the studio on the day, an impromptu session, mighty craic altogether.

Eleanor Shanley sings my song ‘The Gift of Life’ for Organ donation

It was a very special occasion in the Circle of Life Garden in Salthill, Galway on Thursday 30th Nov 2017. It was the 50th Anniversary of the first Heart Transplant which took place in Cape Town South Africa. The Strange Boat foundation organised the event to coincide with events which were held in South Africa, Melbourne, Belfast and Derry. I wrote a song called “The Gift of Life” to commemorate and honor all those who donated their organs and as a blessing for those who have received organs. The song was sung at the event in Salthill,  Galway by the wonderful Irish singer Eleanor Shanley. It was such a special moment for me to hear Eleanor sing the song at such a special event, very moving. I met some wonderful people there who told their stories to me, I feel so grateful and privileged that I could write this song.
